🌐 Navigating the ZATCA Fatoora Platform: Your 2026 Compliance Guide

As we move into 2026, the digital landscape for Saudi businesses continues to evolve. The Fatoora Platform, managed by the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA), is now the central heart of the Kingdom's tax ecosystem. For businesses entering the latest integration waves, understanding this platform is the key to avoiding penalties and ensuring smooth operations.

At Zatify, we specialize in bridging the technical gap between your business and the Fatoora Platform, making compliance simple and automated.

What is the Fatoora Platform?

The Fatoora Platform is ZATCA's official portal where businesses must "onboard" their e-invoice generation systems (EGS). In Phase 2 (the Integration Phase), it acts as a real-time validator that checks your invoices to ensure they meet all legal and technical standards before they are finalized.

The Two Models of Integration

Under Phase 2, the Fatoora Platform handles transactions differently depending on who you are billing:

  1. B2B Invoices (Clearance Model): Standard tax invoices must be sent to the Fatoora Platform for clearance in real-time. You cannot legally share the invoice with your client until ZATCA has "stamped" it.

  2. B2C Invoices (Reporting Model): Simplified tax invoices can be issued to consumers immediately, but they must be reported to the Fatoora Platform within 24 hours of generation.

🚨 2026 Deadlines: Is Your Business in Wave 23 or 24?

ZATCA has announced new waves for 2026, targeting businesses with lower turnover thresholds. If your business falls into these categories, you must integrate with the Fatoora Platform soon:

  • Wave 23: Businesses with a taxable turnover exceeding SAR 750,000 (during 2022, 2023, or 2024) must be integrated by March 31, 2026.

  • Wave 24: Businesses with a taxable turnover exceeding SAR 375,000 (during 2022, 2023, or 2024) must be integrated by June 30, 2026.

Simple Steps to Onboard Your System

Onboarding to the Fatoora Platform can be technical, but the process generally follows these steps:

  1. Generate an OTP: Log into the ZATCA portal to get a One-Time Password for each device or software unit.

  2. Request a CSID: Use the OTP to request your Cryptographic Stamp Identifier, which serves as your system's digital ID.

  3. Compliance Testing: Pass a "Simulation" test by sending sample invoices to ensure your XML files, UUIDs, and QR codes are perfectly formatted.

  4. Production Live: Once verified, your system is moved to the "Production" environment for real transactions.

How Zatify Simplifies Fatoora Integration

Many businesses find the technical requirements of the Fatoora Platform—such as XML UBL 2.1 formatting and API connectivity—to be overwhelming. Zatify's e-invoicing services handle the heavy lifting:

  • System Connectivity: We ensure your ERP or POS connects seamlessly with ZATCA’s API.

  • Automated Clearance: We automate the real-time "stamping" process for B2B invoices.

  • Error Prevention: Our solution includes 150+ validations to catch errors before they reach ZATCA.
